FAQs

How Does The Skin Rejuvenation Procedure Work?

IPL Skin Rejuvenation light passes through the upper layers of your skin, stimulating the cells deep below the surface that produce natural collagen. The collagen and elastin fibers continue to multiply after your treatment, and you will continue to see improved results over the months ahead.

How Is IPL Photo Rejuvenation Procedure Different Than Other Anti-Ageing Treatments?

With Skin Rejuvenation, your skin is not subjected to harsh, invasive treatments or the intense after-care of other facial rejuvenation procedures. Patented technology protects the sensitive surface layers of your skin, allowing the IPL light to penetrate to a deeper level and stimulate new collagen growth.

How Long Does A Treatment Take?

Skin Rejuvenation treatment is so quick and easy, that many patients come in for treatment during their lunch hour. The procedure takes between 20 and 30 minutes, and there are rarely any side effects. You can reapply your make-up right away and carry on with your day.

How Long Will I Take To Heal?

There is virtually no downtime associated with the procedure. You may feel as though you have a mild case of sunburn after your treatment and your skin may be slightly pink for 2 or 3 hours. This will disappear as will the mild swelling which you may experience after your treatment. Brown age spots and uneven pigmentation will turn slightly darker after treatment but clear up after a week or so. Make up can be applied straight after.

Does It Hurt?

It might be a little uncomfortable on certain areas of your face. But mostly, it’s a gentle warmth that doesn’t hurt. Photo Rejuvenation treatment can be performed on any facial area – around the eyes, mouth, cheeks, chin – with minimal discomfort.

How Many Treatments Are Needed And How Long Will It Last?

Depending on your skin condition, you should notice a difference after one session. For best results, we recommend 6 treatments, 3-4 weeks apart. Clinical studies show that several treatments are needed to stimulate new collagen growth. We also recommend regular touch up treatments to sustain the continued growth of new collagen. LED treatments can be added on for increased results.

How Do I Prepare For A Treatment?

Avoid tanning before and after as this will enhance blotchiness. Avoid using gylcolics, acne medications and vitamin A serums (retinols) 2 weeks prior to treatments.
